Place the front end of vehicle on ramps, if not, jack up each side in front and place on Jack Stands.Set emergency brake and block wheels.Disconnect neg cable battery.Ford/Mercury starters usually are held by only two bolts/metric. You will need metric wrenches and or sockets. There may also be a bracket for more support. After dropp
ing starter,remove cable.Replace w
ith new starter or remanufactured in reverse.Easy job.Maybe an hour of labor. Good Luck PS: You may want to wear safety goggles as rust and dirt will be falling
How do you change the starter on a 1993 Mercury Villager?
Only thing is that the starter is on top of the transmission on a villager.... So if you put it on ramps youll need a step ladder :)
