Where is the starter located on a 1969 VW bug?

I need to change the starter on my 1969 VW Bug. Where is it located on the car? The bug is a manual trans also if this helps.

Any help or links with pics would be greatly appreciated.

Located at front end (not engine end) of bell housing on right hand side (left hand side if lying on your back under car).

if you get the car on jack stands and lay on your back and crawl under the car from the back it will be on the left side of the trans-axle. its a little bit smaller than the generator
