Try this as sometimes the pinion sticks in the starter fly wheel,....Switch off the ignition and put the car in gear if it's manual or drive if it's auto, let the hand brake off and push the car back and for wards this will disengage the starter pinion, and in a lot of cases this will solve the problem, if not double check that you have a really good clean earth connection at the starter cable to the engine. This connection is exposed to a lot of oil, dirt, etc. and is a common cause of starter problems.

sounds as though the solenoid may be bad .
your starter is defective or the actuator is jammed I had this happen to me on a customer's car you need to remove the starter again I know it sucks and check the actuator to see if it moves freely if it don't than take it back and get another one when you get a %26quot;new%26quot; starter you are just getting a rebuilt one and some times they don't do a god job of rebuilding it..
