Also where is the starter? i am totally in the dark here. i cant even find it and identify it in the engine compartment.. A picture would be great

How do i change the starter on a mazda 929?
supposing is a v6 engine the starter is located behind the engine, between engine and firewall facing your trans, your trans is at the driver side so starter is aiming that way
it has one primary cable and one small plug with it, is colored black and the part who is aiming to trans is grey colored, is like 10 inches long and it has 3 to 4 bolts 12mm
before doing nothing to starter you have to remove the negative battery terminal, that is a must ! !

Hey Paul I don't have a picture but here is where the starter is find the battery follow starter wires down to the side of motor and there you go , Disconnect the battery before you remove the starter, hope this helps,
